Supports diverse and fast paced Contract Manufacturing activities, including process engineering support as design, test, fabrication and assembly of various devices and subsystems. Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to customer specifications. Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy non-conformance of in-process materials/components. Assists in the design, construction, test, verification and validation of new products and processing equipment, including the creation of process documentation and assembly instructions.
Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for handling of development of products / processes from design to production stage, ensuring prompt release of technical drawings and processing. He/she will work extensively with a team of manufacturing operators, technicians and engineers on daily production issues while working closely with staff to improve product yield, design based on customer requirements and needs.
Responsibilities
* IMG Altair has 40-50 employees on site and will need this individual to wear multiple hats supporting Operations, Tooling/fixture improvements. Handling of development of products from design to the production stage.
* Improving design based on customer requirements and needs.
* Provide support to assembly/brazing issues to ensure conformance to drawings and specifications.
* Generate weekly/monthly reports as required by Supervisor.
* Responsible to improve the process and design in the product cycle.
* Operational Metrics: Oversee ECO's and NCMR responses and guidance.
* Manufacturing Capabilities Assessment as directed by Supervisor
* Able to support new outsource supplier qualifications as needed.
* Address production manufacturing issues, fitting/components compatibilities with prompt drawings resolution.
* Non-Conformance improvement projects for both internal production and outsource suppliers.
* Assist Quality Assurance Dept In preparation for AS9100 / ISO 9001 certification required with supporting documents such as Work Instruction, FMEA and Control Plan.
* Assist in selection and set-up of specialized test equipment
Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering
* A minimum of 2 years engineering experience ideally in the manufacturing field
* Good computer skills especially Engineering software (SolidWorks)
* Good command both spoken/written English
* Strong problem solving and presentation skills
* Knowledge in Weldment and Brazements are a plus.
* Clear communication and documentation skills utilizing programs such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint Outlook and Word

Environmental and Physical Requirements
* Light work that will frequently require employee to lift/move up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 30 lbs.
* Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving equipment and/or supplies occasionally.
* Reaching above and below the shoulder frequently.
* Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools frequently.
* Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.
* Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $93,600 - $159,100 annually. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
