Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Process Control & Automation Engineer specialized in the implementation of Turbo Machinery control systems for hydrocarbon processes, to be part of our Process Automation and Systems Division under our Process Control & Systems Department.
Process and Control Systems Department provides services in the field of process engineering, automation, new energy and digitalization to various entities within Aramco.
As a Process Control & Automation Engineer specialized in the field of Turbo Machinery Control, you will be responsible of matters relating compressors and turbomachinery control automation systems design, installation and commissioning for Oil & Gas facilities. You will utilize your expertise in operational processes, equipment, technology, facility design and solutions to operational and maintenance issues. You will work with different disciplines such as operating sites, process engineering, facility planning, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Provides expert advice and assistance to Company organizations, outside vendors, manufacturers and design firms on matters relating to Compressors & Turbomachinery Control systems.
- Originate and carry out engineering studies to determine optimal solutions to complex technical problems, increase revenue, reduce cost and improve process safety.
- Design and Implementation of different control schemes (Boiler Control, Motor Control, Burner Management, Compressor Control)
- Performs cost analyses and Value Engineering studies to recommend cost-effective solutions to technical issues.
- Works with and/or leads Task teams assigned to investigate incidents or solve specific technical problems.Undertakes special assignments requiring extensive technical experience and discretion when dealing with outside organizations.
Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate you will hold a:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering. Master's degree or PhD in Engineering is desired but not required.
- Minimum 20 years of professional experience as an engineer in turbo machinery control system, with vast knowledge in turbine and compressor control applications and their control systems. Previous work with a major international Oil & Gas Company and/or previous employment with one of the turbo machinery control systems used by Company is highly desired.
- Previous participation in HAZOP and / or SIL analysis studies for oil & gas facilities
- Certified in ISA- Certified Automation Professional (CAP), Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), TUV FSEng, Principles & Practice of Engineering (PE) certification, or Chartered Engineer (C.E.) license or registration.
- Have been an active member in a relevant professional society, (ie. ISA, IEEE, etc.) for a minimum of 3 years and hold current membership.
