A medical device manufacturer which specializes in precision injection molding and microelectronics is in need of an Automation Engineer to create and improve automated manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, evaluate, and improves automated manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes.
• Lead workflow optimization, equipment layout planning, and cost/time estimation to support efficient production.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers on project requirements and equipment specifications.
• Support automation acceptance (SAT/FAT), process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, FMEA), and continuous improvement through data analysis (SPC, OEE).
• Prepares technical documentation, and contributes to engineering changes
• May provide training and mentorship to team members.

Experience needed to be successful in the role:

• Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline is required
• At least 4 years of experience developing or supporting automated manufacturing processes within a regulated environment (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense. Exposure to robotics would be a bonus!
• Experienced in process validation
• Experience working with vision systems such as Keyence, SmartScope, Cognex etc.
• Experience working with plastic injection molding is preferred but not required
