We operate out of a 100,000 square foot facility with 7 automatic presses, 34 embroidery heads, and 6 digital presses. About the role: University Tees is looking for a top-level screen print operator capable of safely setting up and operating an automatic screen printing press with precision. In this role, it is necessary to have the ability to stay on task in a physical and fast work environment. The ideal candidate should have the ability to run 2000+ imprints in an 8 hour shift. We are seeking a motivated operator to lead a team of 3 people throughout the shift by setting up jobs with provided job details. This would include understanding what press tooling and assets would be needed on press, such as, inks, pallets, squeegees, dryer and flash cure times, etc. Being able to identify and troubleshoot problems as they arise during the print process is essential. The operator should eagerly own our quality standards in order to provide our customers with top-notch decorated garments. Daily Duties and Responsibilities: Execute basic fundamentals of operating a screen print press Lead your team to successfully complete each job Educate and train assistants on best practices Problem solve issues on the fly Monitor machine operation to ensure accurate print quality Maintain workstation standards Required skills: Basic-Intermediate knowledge of automatic screen print press operations: mesh counts, press tooling, squeegee durometer, print registration, press set up/print run order, on/off press heat management, specialty inks/processes, knowledge of PMS colors Leadership qualities Print 2000+ imprints per shift Mitigate spoilage and waste Perform consistent quality checks during setup and print process Preferred skills: Experience with M&R equipment Manual print knowledge Advanced specialty processes: water based, CMYK, discharge, simulate process Screen making basics/ reclaim Retail quality sample production Print specifications production On-press troubleshooting PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
