Are you a Chartered/Near Chartered Structural Engineer who enjoys hands-on design, leading projects from concept to completion, and making a real impact in a smaller, close-knit firm? Looking for more autonomy, professional growth, and a chance to shape a growing practice?
KPT Design Ltd could be the perfect next step in your career.
We’re an established structural and civil engineering consultancy based in South West London, with a strong reputation for high-quality work and lasting client relationships. Our portfolio includes bespoke residential projects (both new builds and refurbishments), schools, commercial buildings, and community spaces—with values up to £10m. Much of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals, which reflects the trust we’ve built over time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading projects from day one—client contact, site visits, concept design, and delivery
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and technicians
- Working alongside the MD and senior team members to shape the future of the practice
- Contributing to business growth and development (if that’s your thing)
- Designing everything from new-build schemes to basement conversions, refurbishments, and temporary works
- Producing calculations, reports, and inspections while collaborating directly with architects, contractors, and homeowners
What we’re looking for:
- Chartered or near-Chartered status (IStructE or ICE)
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in leading projects and representing the practice
- Strong technical ability across all main materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry)
- A hands-on engineer who enjoys varied and challenging projects
- An interest in shaping a growing company—with potential for near-future Directorship
- Proficiency in structural design software and preferably AutoCAD
Why join KPT Design?
- Real autonomy and input—no red tape, no silos
- Excellent bonus scheme and competitive salary
- Great working environment in a modern office with strong transport links
- Family-friendly, relaxed, and supportive team culture
- Regular exposure to high-end, creative architectural projects
- A genuine opportunity to grow with the business—with leadership succession on the horizon
Whether you're ready to step into a leadership role or just want to focus on hands-on, varied engineering, we’d love to hear from you!
