Summary

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This individual will play a key role in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a strong analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and enhance system infrastructure, including Windows servers and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Develop and execute scripts (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) to automate tasks, streamline operations, and improve system performance.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support data analysis, reporting, and integration tasks.
  • Independently identify areas for improvement, propose effective solutions, and implement changes that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system health and troubleshoot performance issues across a variety of IT systems and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability, security, and scalability.
  • Document procedures, system configurations, and technical guidelines to support IT operations and compliance.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in systems and cloud administration.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Informatics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in an IT systems environment (or Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience).
  • Proven experience in system administration and cloud environment management (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint Online Integrations
  • Strong SQL query development and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Linux-based systems.
