Job Summary
Our client is seeking an accomplished Principal Structural Engineer to lead their structural engineering team in delivering high-quality, innovative, and structurally sound residential and light commercial projects. This role requires an experienced engineering leader who can oversee complex structural design projects from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with all regulations while maintaining a strong focus on efficiency, safety, and aesthetics.
Job Responsibilities: Lead structural engineering efforts for residential and light commercial projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety codes, and best practices. Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Conduct structural analysis and design using advanced engineering software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools. Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to deliver high-quality, structurally sound designs. Perform site inspections and evaluations to assess structural integrity, construction progress, and adherence to plans. Identify and troubleshoot structural issues that arise during the design and construction phases, providing innovative and cost-effective solutions. Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and national building codes and regulations. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to achieve successful project completion. Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida or eligible for licensure. Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential and light commercial projects. Expertise in structural design principles, construction materials, and engineering standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software. Strong leadership, project management, and team coordination skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
