Key Responsibilities
- Drive Technical Excellence
- Architect and deliver high-impact features and platform improvements.
- Optimize for scalability, latency, and compliance (PCI DSS, GDPR, SOC2).
- Lead resolution of critical tech debt across teams.
- Shape Product Strategy
- Define long-term architecture aligned with business goals.
- Break down strategic initiatives into executable engineering work.
- Collaborate with Product, Sales, and CS to align roadmaps with customer pain points.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across teams.
- Grow Engineering Talent
- Mentor senior engineers into leadership roles.
- Lead knowledge-sharing and design reviews.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and peer learning.
- Act as a Cross-Functional Partner
- Align priorities across Product, Compliance, Ops, and Sales.
- Own PRDs and vision decks for strategic features.
- Navigate trade-offs and drive alignment across functions.
- Ensure Production Stability
- Lead high-severity incident response and RCA processes.
- Maintain and enforce up-to-date incident playbooks.
- Drive a culture of reliability and accountability.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or staff/principal role.
- Proven expertise in system architecture, design patterns, and scaling distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of compliance and security frameworks like GDPR, SOC2, PCI DSS.
- Experience mentoring and developing senior engineers into leadership roles.
- Excellent collaboration skills with experience working closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with production incident management and improving system reliability.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in SaaS or B2B product environments.
- Familiarity with OKRs and metric-driven product delivery.
- Contributions to open-source or technical community events.
