Summary

Job Title : Principal Engineer – Process


Role :

  • Perform concept, front end and detailed process design for engineering projects.
  • Execute technical support studies as requested.
  • Provide engineering support to the construction / commissioning phases as necessary.
  • Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations as requested.
  • He/she shall report to relevant Discipline Head.


Qualifications:

Degree in Process/Chemical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng/M.Sc.)


Experience

Minimum 15 years oil & gas engineering experience in front end & detailed design is required in an engineering design company. Conversant with relevant international standards. Experience with Company and/or Shell Group projects and standards (SPs and DEPs) is strongly preferred. Field experience in construction & commissioning strongly preferred.


General

Fluent spoken and written English. PC literate


Professional and intellectual level

Having MMUP Grad A certificate


Principal accountabilities


  • Provide process engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards.
  • Support design/drawing office personnel with specialist process engineering input.
  • Work on multiple small & medium size projects with other Engineers & Designers and deliver fit for purpose projects ahead of schedule while maintaining quality and containing the engineering cost.
  • Carry out process simulations and optimization studies for projects; prepare PFS with H&M balances; equipment sizing; prepare PEFS, PSFS, POM, SM, Various Process Philosophies and Reports; Perform Steady state and Transient Hydraulic studies etc.


  • Participate & defend process design in various Design & Safety Reviews.
  • Provide process engineering support for ad-hoc technical studies as requested.


  • Establish the actual (as opposed to design) capacities and capabilities of existing field facilities in order to identify potential bottlenecks and scope for optimization.


  • Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids from Process standpoint for all engineered/standard items. Review & approve Vendor documents/Drawings from Process standpoint.


  • Ensure equipment Vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages. Review all third party process design work.
  • Ensure design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.


  • Act as lead discipline engineer for specific projects, managing discipline design teams of designers and engineers.
  • Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimize areas of interface, during the design development, review and check processes.
  • Relevant appreciation of all other discipline areas work and interface requirements to process engineering.
  • Actively train and encourage the development of young engineers to fulfill process and systems engineering roles.
