This Principal ITS Engineer/Project Manager will lead project teams through the delivery of a variety of transportation and ITS projects. Primary Job Responsibilities
The Principal ITS Engineer / Project Manager will lead a multi-discipline team through the development of ITS, network design and electrical power distribution designs, intelligent transportation system (ITS) improvements, network communications, traffic signal design, and report writing. Candidate can work out of the Indianapolis, IN, Milwaukee, WI or Chicago IL (preferred) offices.
As our newest team member, you’ll play an active role in leading the development of plans, specifications and estimates critical infrastructure projects. We will provide you with professional development working with other professional engineers. Here's what you'll need
- Fifteen (15) or more years’ professional project experience required.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Professional Transportation Operations Engineer (PTOE) Preferred
- Project Management experience
- Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Tollway and City of Chicago design standards.
- Ability to work in multi-discipline engineering teams of civil, civil, and mechanical engineers.
- Valid driver’s license & able to travel for site visits
- Knowledge of and experience using REVIT, AutoCAD, or MicroStation design software
- Ability to travel occasionally
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience applying National Electrical Code to a wide variety of projects.
- NCEES Account to achieve Professional Registrations in other jurisdictions.
- Experience designing electrical systems supporting infrastructure projects.
- Complex lighting experience
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong time management and attention to detail

The base salary range for this position is $180,000.00 to $210,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
