Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, and experienced Principal Engineer – Interior Seating to join our growing team. This key technical leadership position will be responsible for the delivery of the complete Seating system.

What you get to do:

  • Be an integral part of an energetic team that's challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
  • Lead the Definition, Development, and Delivery of Interior Seating.
  • Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets including all government regulations and due care safety expectations.
  • Manage all aspects of interior component and system developments to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
  • Lead seat comfort ergonomics to be best in class.
  • Lead root cause analysis during launch with collaboration from cross functional teams.
  • Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements as part of vehicle integration.
  • Support supplier PPAP achievement.
  • Manage change control with accurate and on-time releases.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. Master degree preferred.
  • 15+ years in complete seat engineering from concept to launch.
  • Launch experience leadership required. Operations experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of the full Seat Complete product cycle.
  • Undeniable passion for automotive interior seating and interiors.
  • Strong experiential knowledge of NHTSA/FMVSS requirements.
  • Proven communication and team building skills.
  • Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
