Role: Staff/Principal Engineer – Internal LLM & AI Developer Tooling

Location: Hybrid / Remote (South Dublin)

Tech Stack: Tool-agnostic with .NET backend environment

Salary - 120 - 140k

About the Role

We’re hiring a Staff or Principal-level engineer to lead the build of a new internal AI/LLM-powered productivity tool for our client.

You’ll be designing and developing a suite of tools that use LLMs and automation to:

• Search internal codebases and documentation using natural language
• Auto-suggest or generate code based on internal libraries and patterns
• Reduce time spent on manual or repetitive engineering tasks

This is a greenfield role with full backing from the CTO. You’ll lead design decisions, evaluate LLM frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, HuggingFace, LangChain), but key to the role is this person will architect and build robust integrations into our existing .NET-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal applications powered by LLMs
• Integrate AI tooling with internal repositories, documentation and dev workflows
• Drive architectural decisions and establish a framework for AI-based tooling
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to identify productivity bottlenecks
• Deliver measurable efficiency gains and user delight through AI

Requirements

• Expert level of software engineering, with exposure to enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with AI/ML tooling, LLM APIs, embeddings, vector DBs, etc.
• Strong backend architecture skills (.NET experience helpful but not mandatory)
• Experience designing internal tools used by developers
• A practical mindset: You can prototype fast and ship usable tools, not just research ideas
