Job Overview

UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry. The mission of the Principal EE architect is to secure our EE architecture is maintained and developed for the future technologies align with product plan.

Responsibilities And Duties

The primary responsibilities of the Principal EE architect are:

  • Maintain EE architecture roadmap aligned with product plan
  • Leading the investigation of feasibilities and impacts on EE architecture due to the product evolution requirements in early phase of development.
  • Leading the system engineering activities like physical system architecture, basic support services and vehicle application system with the expertise on the EE architecture.
  • Ensuring that the system development is performed according to defined development processes and methods.
  • Drive the specification and its refinement in the system engineering activities
  • Check if a new EE system baseline is required to be released as a result of the system development within the assignment.
  • Propose future AE activities.
  • Promote patent creation and innovation.
  • Identify technical competence needs in the system engineering.
  • Approve technical solutions in system engineering.
  • Participating in the evaluation of contractors and new employees, prior to selection.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MSc degree or equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in HW & SW development.
  • At least 5 years’ experience from System Engineering & Software development in leading positions.
  • Learning on the fly
  • Networking and communication skills, cooperating with stakeholders cross-functionally for problem solving.
  • Business and customer oriented
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Japanese and English
