A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Principal Applications Engineer at MKS you will partner with a talented, multidisciplinary team supplying precision vacuum pressure measurement instruments to the semiconductor, medical, and industrial equipment markets. Key activities will include customer facing issue resolution, active oversight of root cause analysis, identifying product performance limitations and establishing roadmaps to improvement. This is an exciting, hands-on role with significant growth potential.

What you will do:
- Develop a deep understanding of MKS product performance and customer applications.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external customers to resolve customer product issues, identify root cause of product failures or performance limitations, resolve customer usage issues.
- Troubleshoot complex issues to root cause and support the product team in resolution.
- Support Continuous Improvement activities to enhance our products and customer support.
- Participate as a key member of multi-disciplinary development teams, providing customer input to industry leading sensor and electronics designs and specifications.
- Provide support for verification, qualification, and validation studies on existing products.
- Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical product support.
Skills You Bring:
- Experience working with customers of technically-complex products.
- Extensive experience supporting multidisciplinary products, ideally vacuum processing equipment or sensor technologies.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Hands-on engineering skills, capable of test development, setup, and execution as well as managing technical resources to perform these tasks.
- Must be self-motivated, an excellent collaborator, and have an intense customer/product focus.
- Experience with sensors and instrumentation, vacuum systems, or semiconductor capital equipment strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to both internal and external stakeholders, worldwide.
- BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related field
- 8+ years of experience, advanced degree a plus.
