Job Description
Onsemi is seeking a Principal Analog design Engineer, NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, Power Management, to join our growing team in Bengaluru, India. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC drivers, Switches and e-fuses for consumer, industrial and automotive applications. In this role, you will focus on the following
- Lead an analog IP block from definition to IP delivery
- Evaluate intermediate and results of projects during the design phase and during silicon evaluation, to ensure accomplishment of technical objectives
- Work with and provide guidance to physical designers and monitors the progress of IC layout
- Collaborate with Design Verification teams during the pre-tapeout phase of a project to ensure completion of all technical tasks before tapeout
- Collaborate with validation, product engineering and test engineering teams to enable successful transfer to production
- Collaborate with overseas design and systems teams on technical aspects, IP development, sharing of know-how
- Own technical outcomes of design, verification, implementation, and execution of power management ICs with complexities that can span from simple regulators to complex mixed-signal designs and control loops
- Understand project goals, create a realistic schedule and resource plan, track execution schedule to plan, monitor progress, and provide full clarity to the team on the goals and objectives

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 10 years of experience, or MS + 8 years of experience
- Solid track record of delivering multiple complex IPs to manufacturing
- Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies
- Goal and outcome-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects within the team
- Ability to attract and retain key engineering talent
- Ability to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and concerns to all levels of management
- Good understanding of various Power Converters such as Buck, Boost, LDOs, gate drivers, comparators, linear regulators gm-stage and relevant Analog building blocks
- Good understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current Mode, Voltage Mode, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages
- Understanding of DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, SiC devices and drivers is a strong plus
- Strong Analog IC design skills, debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and/or bench testing
- Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performance
- understanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) Design, Layout, and Robustness
- Proficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
