Job Purpose

To produce quality metal parts using a punch press, shear, and other machinery that makes precision cuts from a die inside the press

Job Responsibilities

• Operates a stamping press to shape materials used in manufacturing operations in the production department
• Performs operations such as blanking, bending, punching, forming, etc. on a variety of materials based on blueprints and other instructions
• Responsibilities include configuring equipment and checking the quality of the product while operating, recognizing condition of dies, loading materials to the equipment, feeding material through die, and positioning and removing parts from the die
• Keeps a record of number of pieces made and of any significant tasks performed , as well as any in process inspections that were performed while in production.
• Reads work schedule to ascertain production information, such as size, type, and quantity to be processed and the due date.
• Reports to Fabrication Manager
  
  

Job Authority Per Company Quality Policy - has the responsibility for ensuring product quality and the authority to stop production to correct quality problems.

Job Experience/Education Required

• High School Diploma
• 1 – 3 years experience
• 4+ years of current experience
