Prep Cook
Position Summary
The Prep Cook is expected to perform a variety of duties. These duties include, but not limited to, satisfying all Essential Functions, Physical Demands, Non-Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions, while assisting the Pizza Chef and Manager On Duty in the execution and preparation of all menu/food items and adhering to all safety and sanitation requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following;
Certificates
· Valid Food Handlers Certificate
Experience
· 1+ years culinary experience, but not required if possessing other comparable experience
Physical Demands
· Able to lift up to 50#
· Able to work extended hours on their feet
Non-Physical Demands
· Must be professional and respectful to all managers, peers, subordinates
· Must be a self-starter
· Must be dependable and reliably on time for all shifts
· Utilize a wide range of kitchen tools, utensils and equipment, including knives and grinders and slicers.
· Coordinate a number of activities with multiple components requiring independent follow through and attention to detail.
· Be highly organized and detail oriented.
· Communication and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with management and co-workers at all levels.
· Adequately represent the organization when in contact with customers and vendors on the telephone.
Environmental Capabilities
· Able to perform in a fast-paced environment subject to extreme variations in temperature and humidity
· Work in a multi-task environment with frequent interruptions and short deadlines, and sometimes a high degree of pressure.
Core responsibilities
· Execution of all prep as required by the Pizza Chef and Manager On Duty
· Execution of all food orders as required by the Pizza Chef and Manager On Duty
Day to Day Activities
· Proper storage of all delivered orders
· Ensure all items needed to execute service are replenished as needed
· Responsible for achieving quality, food cost, labor cost, safety and customer satisfaction goals.
· All areas are kept neat, clean and orderly
· Maintain safety and sanitation standards
· Attend and participate in meetings as required
· Additional duties as required by Pizza Chef and Manager On Duty
Salary range
· $19-21, based upon experience
