Title: Pre-Sales Solutions Specialist - Data Center/Storage

Location: Hybrid - Chicagoland

Compensation: Base $150K-$175K + Uncapped Commission (OTE: $300K++)

Position Overview

The Solutions Specialist - Data Center/Storage partners with the Account Executive and is responsible for driving the technical solutions strategy and delivering additional revenue from products and services. This is a quota-carrying sales position. You will support multiple customer accounts to generate opportunities and foster relationships across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to understand their data center and storage needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Consult with Subject Matter Experts on key customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the pre-sales team to develop and execute competitive final proposals.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value of solutions offered.
  • Support the sales team in pre-sales activities, including customer meetings and proposal development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies in data center and storage solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships vendors and other partners to drive sales opportunities.
  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales process, from initial discussions to final implementation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in solutions/sales engineering or technical sales roles, with a focus on data center and storage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong proposal writing experience.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and procedures
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies and vendors such as HP, Pure, NetApp, and Dell.
  • Proven track record in business development and sales, with the ability to drive results in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with VAR partnerships and managing client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
