Job Summary

Little Unicorn's International Garderie is seeking a passionate and experienced Pre-Primary Teacher who is eager to step into the Curriculum Development field as a fresher. This role is perfect for a female candidate with at least 5 years of hands-on teaching experience and a strong foundation in designing and delivering lesson plans and activities. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about developing curricula and learning materials for young children, with a focus on innovative, age-appropriate content for children aged 1.5 to 6 years. As a teacher transitioning into curriculum development, you will work closely with senior curriculum developers to design educational frameworks, learning materials, and assessment tools that foster young children's growth and development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva is a must, as these tools will be used to create and design high-quality educational resources.


Responsibilities

1. Classroom Teaching (Pre-Primary)

  • Lead and facilitate daily lessons for children aged 1.5 to 6 years, creating a warm, stimulating, and educational environment.
  • Implement your own lesson plans, activities, and teaching strategies that are creative, interactive, and aligned with children's developmental needs.
  • Utilize various teaching methods (e.g., Montessori, Play-Based Learning, Reggio Emilia) to support early learning in literacy, numeracy, social, emotional, and physical skills.
  • Monitor and document children’s progress, providing constructive feedback to parents regarding development milestones.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independent learning.

2. Curriculum Development (Transition Role)

  • Support the senior curriculum developers in designing, adapting, and improving educational curricula and teaching materials for young learners.
  • Assist in creating engaging lesson plans, activities, worksheets, and digital learning tools aligned with early childhood education standards.
  • Transition into a curriculum developer role by applying your classroom experience to create age-appropriate and innovative learning resources.
  • Work with the team to ensure that curricula are developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant, and flexible to accommodate various learning needs and styles.
  • Use digital tools (PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Canva, and other platforms) to design visually appealing learning materials that support hands-on, interactive teaching.

3. Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Collaborate with teachers, curriculum developers, and school management to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all educational programs.
  • Participate in team meetings and workshops to discuss and refine curriculum strategies, teaching methods, and student progress.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest teaching trends, curriculum development practices, and educational technologies.
  • Share feedback from the classroom to help refine and adapt the curriculum to better suit the needs of the students.



Qualifications

Education:

  • A degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in curriculum development or other teaching methodologies will be a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in teaching children aged 1.5 to 6 years.
  • Strong experience in creating and implementing your own lesson plans, activities, and educational content for young children.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Lesson Planning & Creativity: Proven ability to create and implement engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
  • Curriculum Development: Basic understanding of curriculum design principles, with a strong desire to learn and apply them to early childhood education.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Canva for designing lesson plans, worksheets, and other educational resources.
  • Teaching Methodologies: Familiarity with modern early childhood educational practices (e.g., Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Play-Based Learning, etc.).
  • Classroom Management: Ability to manage and engage young children effectively, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with parents.
  • Adaptability: Open to new ideas and methodologies, with a willingness to adapt and grow in the field of curriculum development.
