Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of high-wattage IGBT-based power converters and battery chargers, primarily for railway and EV applications. This is a technical leadership role focused on innovation, product reliability, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of high-power AC to DC converters using IGBT and other semiconductor technologies.
  • Simulate and optimize converter designs for efficiency, thermal management, EMI/EMC compliance, and transient response.
  • Select and validate components like MOSFETs, diodes, inductors, capacitors, and transformers.
  • Develop prototypes and perform rigorous testing using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power analyzers.
  • Design control algorithms (voltage-mode, current-mode, digital control) and fine-tune loop stability.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation: schematics, BOMs, test procedures, and design reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant IEC standards and other regulatory requirements.

Required skills and experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and validation of high-wattage AC/DC converters.
  • Strong expertise in thermal design and power electronics circuit analysis.
  • Experience with full-bridge converter topologies.
  • Proficiency in simulation and development tools for power electronics.
  • Experience in testing high-wattage converters for railway or telecom applications.
  • Working knowledge of microcontroller interfacing, including I2C and SPI protocols.
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance and thermal performance analysis.

Preferred skills

  • Prior experience in the design and qualification of railway-grade power systems.
  • Exposure to battery charging systems for EVs or similar applications.

Educational qualifications

  • Mandatory: B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • Preferred: M.Tech or PhD in Power Electronics or related field
