Power Electronics Engineer

  • Design, test, and validate inverter and converter power electronics, control systems, and various aux. components for traction / propulsion / etc applications ( railway rolling stock, light rail vehicles, etc )

Required Qualifications ( Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications )

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/MSEE)
  • Several years of relevant full time experience
  • Experience with design of high power electronics, converters (AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC), three-phase motors, switching devices, Si/SiC MOSFET, IGBT, etc
  • MATLAB, Simulink, LTSpice/QSpice, etc

Screening Questions

  • Do you have hands on experience in architecting/designing and controlling inverters, AC-DC, DC-AC, DC-DC converters ?
  • Do you have experiencing sizing switching devices and filter components ?
  • Do you have experience in comparing, analyzing, understanding and controlling the characteristics and performance of silicon vs silicon carbide switching devices for applications mentioned in question #1 ?
