Job Title: Power Electronics Control Firmware Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Power Electronics Controls and Firmware Engineer with extensive experience in embedded power control firmware development. This role focuses on advancing next-generation fast charging products through innovative control engineering and power electronics expertise.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement embedded controls for PFC, Chargers, DC/DC converters, and inverters.
* Conduct board bring-up and develop device drivers for communication interfaces such as CAN, I2C, and SPI.
* Participate in developing specifications, design reviews, and executing unit tests.
* Prove design concepts through computer simulation and physical laboratory testing.
* Develop automated test cases for Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) modeling and testing.
* Remain updated with the latest technology in digital control and controllers.
* Write lean code for real-time interrupt-driven applications.
* Understand schematics and debug hardware issues.
* Comprehend safety regulatory requirements in power converters for fast chargers.
Essential Skills
* Over 5 years of experience in developing Power Electronics products.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Assembly for 32-bit controllers, DSPs, and Python for scripting and automation.
* Solid working experience in developing embedded firmware for real-time systems.
* Strong understanding of power electronics principles, including control techniques for inverters, rectifiers, and DC-DC converters.
* Hands-on high power lab experience and ability to debug hardware issues related to firmware functions in power converters.
* Proficiency in programming microcontrollers and utilizing peripherals such as timers, PWM, interrupts, GPIOs, ADC, UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and Ethernet.
* Experience with version control systems like Git and SVN.
* Expertise in developing secure and reliable bootloaders.
* Experience in HIL testing including testbed setup and real-time simulation.
* Proven skills in debugging complex firmware issues using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
* Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
* Knowledge of communication protocols used in power electronics systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of Grid-tie inverter systems is preferable.
* Experience in developing control systems for Power inverters/Converters.
* Knowledge in control system design, modeling, and simulation using Plecs, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools.
* Experience in FPGA programming and simulation techniques is preferable.
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
