You Are
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer and Data Visualization Specialist with a strong design background to join our growing analytics team. The ideal candidate will transform complex data sets into insightful and visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI. Your experience in UI/UX design and graphic communication will play a key role in enhancing the clarity and usability of our business intelligence solutions.
The Opportunity
- Hybrid: In office/remote
- Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations from scratch.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
- Redesign and maintain existing reports to ensure consistency with brand standards and optimize performance.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Support the continuous improvement of Power BI tools, templates, and best practices across the organization.
- Leverage background in graphic design and UI/UX to improve report usability and visual storytelling.

What You Need
- 7-8 years of experience
- Proven experience in data visualization, ideally as a Power BI Developer, Data Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling concepts.
- Background in design with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Figma.
- Experience redesigning reports and dashboards to align with organizational branding and enhance user experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally with teams and clients.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting non-profit or enterprise organizations in a data visualization or reporting capacity.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure or Power BI Service.
- Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a plus, but not required.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ontario
Compensation Range: $98,000-$120,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
