Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

TDK Ventures is seeking a deeply technical person to support its portfolio of entrepreneurs. The Portfolio Program Associate will apply deep technical knowledge, partnerships building, and program management skills to the core investment areas of focus for TDK Ventures in Industry 5.0, Mobility, Robotics, Computing & Connectivity and Healthtech. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry recognized, top-tier Corporate Venture Capital fund in Silicon Valley.


Reporting to Portfolio Program Director, the Portfolio Program Associate will work closely with the TDK Ventures team, to engage with startups that TDK Ventures invests in (portfolio companies) and support partnerships with TDK. The goal is to explore, identify and secure mutual value creation between the portfolio companies and TDK. This position’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Develop a solid knowledge of startups that TDK Ventures invests in, including their core competencies, business, technology roadmap, partnerships requirements with TDK and explore and identify synergistic opportunities with TDK.
  • Enable strategic partnerships between Portfolio Companies and with TDK Teams with proactive program management, timely documentation of project status, next steps and timely follow-ups to bring highly appreciated value.
  • Support Portfolio Program team in timely updates to TDK Ventures Portfolio company briefings and other activities as needed.

  • Have an advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related field
  • Have a demonstrated ability to understand deeply the core technologies in the fields mentioned
  • Are confident switching between different technologies and adapting to new challenges
  • Have experience enabling partnerships or working on technical projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Are detail oriented and a self-starter with great initiative


REQUIREMENTS

  • A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or a related field
  • 3-5+ years’ work experience in a technical project or program management role, post PhD
  • Candidates with an advanced degree less than a PhD and with similar experience may be considered for an Analyst role
