The Plumber Apprentice works under the guidance of licensed plumbers to learn and assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in commercial buildings. This entry-level position is designed for individuals interested in developing a career in commercial plumbing.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the installation and repair of piping systems, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems in commercial properties
Learn to read and accurately interpret plumbing blueprints, schematics, and building codes to understand project layouts and specifications.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites
Learn to use plumbing tools and equipment correctly and efficiently
Attend training sessions and complete any required apprenticeship coursework
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Enrolled or willing to enroll in a certified plumbing apprenticeship program
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plumbing skills
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various positions (climbing, kneeling, etc.)
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Working Conditions
Work is performed on active construction sites and in existing commercial buildings
Exposure to varying weather conditions and potentially hazardous materials
May involve early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekend work
