Summary

Objective of the Position: Supports production through trouble shooting and continuous improvement of PLC programming, robot programming and trouble shooting of electrical wiring. This job creates and maintains open issues lists for new projects and develops standards and programs for machine builders to use. Lastly, this position implements controls changes and improvements.

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Review drawings and programs and follow through with buyoff/open issues and troubleshoot software (20%)
  • Software development, software troubleshooting and continuous improvement of software to support production (30%)
  • Create high quality software for equipment and integrated software solutions that exceed customer requirements
  • Design control systems as requested by the customer. Must be able to generate schematic diagrams, panel layouts, and bill of material.
  • Perform functional test of machinery on site and off site.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills as related to machinery and control systems.
  • Ensure project designs comply with engineering principles and all regulatory requirements.
  • Creating and improving standards/documentation
  • Internal controls projects (design and build)

Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all EETAM polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Advance Control Systems or similar field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial automotive plant enviroment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design in the field of industrial automation, troubleshooting and servicing. At least two year experience with principle PLC manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc, or Siemens. Siemens preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical and safety design standards (NFPA, NEC, IEC/EN 62061, etc.) required.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Technical Expertise

  • Knowledgeable of welding and metal forming techniques and processes.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Business Acumen- Understands business implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Project Management- Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.
