Position Overview

This role, based in either a corporate office or the field, involves managing, coordinating, and hands-on construction of water and wastewater treatment projects. Project Engineers work directly with the Project Manager, Superintendent, or Estimators. Preferred candidates have prior water and wastewater construction experience and excel in project planning and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update project schedules as needed.
  • Assist the Project Manager with purchase orders, submittal reviews, and preparation.
  • Maintain job files, submittal logs, requests for information, and change and field orders.
  • Verify field measurements for material fabrication and expedite deliveries.
  • Manage spare parts transfer.
  • Attend meetings with subcontractors, engineers, and owners.
  • Stay current on safety standards and provide relevant knowledge and feedback.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist in estimating responsibilities.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a plant project manager.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, workflow, and handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or construction management preferred.

Physical Requirements/ Work Environment

  • Frequent travel by car; proof of insurance and a clean DMV record may be required.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Noise levels in the work environment can vary from quiet to loud.
  • May be required to wear appropriate PPE when in the field.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, sit, talk, and hear.
  • May need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
