Company Overview: B19 are partnered with a n expanding engineering consultancy ,that is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee gas pipeline integrity projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Key client: SoCal Gas Work schedule : Hybrid in Los Angeles (2/3 days in the office) Job Overview: The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing gas pipeline integrity projects, ensuring effective coordination across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, and compliance. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that pipeline projects are executed safely, efficiently, and meet all regulatory and technical requirements. This role requires both project management expertise and a strong technical background in gas pipeline integrity. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage gas pipeline integrity projects, overseeing project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality assurance. Collaborate with engineering teams to define project requirements, technical specifications, and ensure alignment with integrity management programs. Develop detailed project plans, including risk assessments, resource allocation, and schedules, while tracking progress and making necessary adjustments. Coordinate project teams including engineers, inspectors, contractors, and vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Ensure all project activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards (e.g., API 1160, ASME B31.8), and company safety policies. Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance on pipeline inspection data, integrity assessments, and maintenance strategies. Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor safety and operational integrity throughout the project lifecycle. Manage relationships with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders, ensuring that project deliverables meet their expectations. Oversee procurement of materials and services needed for pipeline inspection, repair, and maintenance. Prepare and present project reports, status updates, and technical documentation to management and stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for project execution and pipeline integrity management practices. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering (or related technical field). 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on gas pipeline integrity or related infrastructure projects. Strong technical knowledge of pipeline integrity management, including risk assessment, in-line inspection (ILI), non-destructive testing (NDT), and cathodic protection systems. Demonstrated success in managing projects involving multi-disciplinary teams and external contractors. Excellent project management skills with proficiency in tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar software. Experience with regulatory compliance in the gas pipeline sector (e.g., PHMSA regulations, API, ASME). PMP certification or similar project management certification is preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
