In this role you will be responsible for project delivery, design management & project management, for positioning and winning projects involving a range of services. The role will be instrumental in collaborating with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects.

Job Description

The Pipeline Engineer executes all aspects of Pipeline Engineering activities. Works collaboratively to ensure Pipeline Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established objectives. Is flexible to work with different teams and sectors based on business requirements and supports the Piping Engineering team for execution and delivery of piping design deliverable (3D model, MTO, Isometrics, GADs etc.)

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of Pipeline Engineering deliverables.
  • Assist in leading and execution of project deliverables including but not limited to pipeline wall thickness and material specifications, alignment sheets, routing analysis, crossing design, riser and pigging facility design, material requisitions, and specialty item specifications.
  • Contribute to project documentation including DBM’s, execution plans, and construction work packages.
  • Identify and coordinate stress engineering requirements related to pipeline design.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of optimized drawings and models.
  • Execute calculations required for pipeline design including but not limited to, wall thickness, buoyancy control, hydrotest, and pullback.
  • Liaise with Stress, Mechanical, Supply Chain and Project Management.
  • Support response to RFI’s related to pipeline systems.
  • Develop, manage, and implement project specifications.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the Health and Safety program.

Here's what you'll need

Skills And Qualification

  • Successful candidate will possess a Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 6 years pipeline design experience.
  • Experience and expertise in AutoCAD 2D and 3D modelling tools (e.g. AutCad P3D, S3D)
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to execute efficiently on aboveground/underground cross country pipeline projects.
  • Experience in contributing to multi-discipline teams, including global workshare.
  • Proven experience designing pipeline systems to ASME B31.4/B 31.8 as well as Indian standards and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience producing pipeline alignment sheets, materials specifications, data sheets for valves and induction bends, and piping arrangements for pigging facilities.
  • Experience in trenchless crossing design including HDD’s, HDB’s and auger bores.
  • Ability to effectively resolve interdisciplinary issues, or concerns that arise within a team environment.
  • Ability to evaluate and address constructability concerns from desktop information.
