Position Summary

As an Analyst, Physical Security Operations Center (PSOC) at Oncor, you’ll operate within a fast-paced team utilizing various technology driven tools for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to real-time physical security incidents, alarms, and emergencies. This challenging role is responsible for the daily activities within the PSOC protecting Oncor’s employees, facilities, assets, and reputation. This role is responsible for the collection, analysis, and response to intelligence information, threat activities, physical access control data (PACS), and video management software (VMS/CCTV) feeds. The PSOC Analyst is dedicated to ensure a swift response to security related incidents and the implementation of controls and processes for all areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the daily activities across the PSOC span of control: monitor VMS feeds, PACS, communications, fire/life safety, alarm, and travel systems.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies in accordance to standard operating procedures.
  • Identify risk and define and implement mitigation measures.
  • Formulate emergency PSOC response and crisis management, intelligence reports, threat bulletins, travel safety advisories, and after-action reporting.
  • Assist and monitor intelligence support to events, personal protection, executive protection, and travel safety.
  • Monitor and assesses security threats which may impact Oncor operations and partners cross functionally to implement effective plans to mitigate such threats.
  • Dispatch, foster collaboration, and maintain partnerships with Oncor Security personnel, Law Enforcement, business partners, and vendors, ensuring effective coordination on security, emergency preparedness, and response initiatives.
  • Conduct proactive surveillance of critical Oncor infrastructure and facilities to identify unusual activity or emerging threats.
  • Oversight of alarm/camera/panel/reader monitoring for uptime and lead equipment issue resolution.
  • Oversight of video management system and camera uptime and lead equipment issue resolution.
  • Oversight of all SOC, security appliance, and edge device hardware/software platforms and report issues to technical support teams.
  • Utilization of mass communication notification tools used to inform and activate crisis management teams and employees of emergency conditions.
  • When necessary, document and produce timely, accurate, and detailed incident reports.
  • Serve as central point of contact for all security related items and communicate timely, accurate, and detailed incidents to key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Performs all essential functions and aspects of the job including any other specific job requirements.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and 2+ years’ experience in security operations center, physical security, emergency dispatch/management, or related role required.
  • Applicants with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security, or a related technical field are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants with experience with access control video management and mass communication suite of products technologies encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants with experience in electric utility industry are encouraged to apply.

  • Able to understand the overall picture and objectives of Oncor.
  • Implement and administer PSOC policies, standards, procedures and provide the guidance required to support Oncor corporate security functions, operations and activities.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise to operate a centralized PSOC security program with strong headquarters-level governance.
