Physical Security Lead Technician to oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems, including access control, surveillance, alarms, and related hardware. This role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring project completion on time and within budget, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in low-voltage systems, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Ability to install, program, configure and service a variety of video surveillance and access control systems
Install surveillance cameras in a variety of environments
Install access control components in a variety of environments
Install cable and pathways effectively and timely meeting company and customer quality expectations
Terminate and test voice, video and data cables
Ability to organize/lead projects in the field and report back to project manager
Ability to give instruction on project job duties to team members assigned to the job
Ability to communicate with and attend customer meeting both on-site and in the office
Maintains job site appearance (neatness and cleanliness)
Maintains a neat professional appearance
Communicate accurately, hours worked for the day
Follows through on job assignment and management direction
Effectively reads and understands print and layouts of building and floor plan
Knows, understands and follows all safety regulations
Perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned from time to time
Genetec Expertise:
Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining Genetec Security Center (Access Control, Video Surveillance, and ALPR systems).
Troubleshooting and resolving Genetec software and hardware integration issues.
Managing Genetec system upgrades, patches, and firmware updates
Knowledge:
Must possess good communication skills, good mechanical aptitude and good organizational skills.
This position must be able to receive and carry out direction. T
his position requires a person to have a mature outlook to handle constructive criticism.
This position also requires one to have basic tool knowledge.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
Continuing education through the union agreement
Experience or certification from Axis, Genetec and/or S2 is preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass background, drug test, and physical
5 years’ experience with related background
Member of the local IBEW or eligible to join upon hire
Salary: Hourly (based on Electrical 292 low voltage union scale) + Benefits
