Role: PHP Lead Developer/Architect

Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Overview:

Our client is seeking a PHP Lead Developer/Architect with 10+ years of experience to design and lead development of scalable, secure applications in the environmental commodities space. This role combines hands-on coding, architectural leadership, and team mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop PHP applications (Laravel 10.x, CodeIgniter 4.x)
• Lead requirement analysis and translate into technical designs
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards
• Mentor development team and foster best practices
• Ensure performance, security, and compliance
• Collaborate across teams and stay updated on tech trends

Requirements:

• 10+ years in PHP development; 3+ years in architecture
• Strong in Laravel, CodeIgniter, HTML/CSS/JS/jQuery
• Experience with MySQL, REST APIs, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Nice to Have:

• Agile/Scrum, DevOps/CI-CD, Microservices experience
