Summary

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Fairfax, VA, 22033.


This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!


Location: Fairfax, VA, 22033

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm (40hrs/week)

Pay Range: $19.85- $21.79 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume


Job Requirements:

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

  • Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.


Responsibilities

  • Collect and process blood specimens from patients using venipuncture techniques while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Record and maintain accurate data entries for each specimen collected.
  • Monitor and document vital signs as required.
  • Provide exceptional patient service, particularly to geriatric patients, ensuring their needs are met with compassion.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology and laboratory procedures to enhance patient care.


Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.


Work Experience:

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment is preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
