Are you a data-savvy petroleum engineer looking for a role that combines engineering, analytics, and exposure to private equity-style dealmaking?

On offer is a unique opportunity to join a small, close-knit team with a family office culture. You’ll work on exciting upstream energy projects with access to senior decision-makers, structured mentorship, and long-term career growth.

This company specializes in underwriting and evaluating mineral interests. You'll work directly with a small, high-performing team using tools like SQL, Python, ComboCurve, and Enverus to support production forecasting, economic analysis, and decision-making.

In this role, you’ll build automation tools, analyze large datasets, and help drive underwriting and asset management decisions. You’ll gain end-to-end visibility on energy investments, combining technical engineering knowledge with financial acumen.

This role would suit a recent petroleum engineering or computer science graduate with internship or early career experience or a data-focused reservoir engineer/tech looking for more ownership, technical variety, and advancement potential.

The Role:

  • Analyze upstream energy datasets and support mineral interest underwriting
  • Create advanced Excel reports (pivot tables, VBA) and GIS-based visualizations
  • Perform production forecasting and economics in ComboCurve

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
  • Experience in oil & gas, ideally with operators or non-ops
  • Experience with Python, ComboCurve, SQL
  • Strong analytical mindset with a self-starter attitude
