Description

As a Perl/Web Developer, you will be joining the IB Insurance development team which maintain the Insurance Platform application for several countries. You'll be responsible for developing the front end of the application in HTML and Java Script, and the back-end transactional app in Perl with connectivity to PostgreSQL database, and integration with webservices from external providers.
As a Perl/Web Developer, you will part of the team responsible for development and writing code mainly using Perl, HTML, Java Script, collect and process data, convert databases to PostgreSQL. You will participate in design sessions to know business requirements and possible solutions to be delivered. You will team up with Product Managers to create project plans and estimate task durations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand existing code from and existing application being maintained and enhanced.


• Collaborate with the team, which is diverse, and located in different regions.


• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.


• Create and maintain software documentation.


• Coordinate with Project Manager to clearly understand business requirements and expectations.


• Conduct trainings and provide guidance to Junior Developer when required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• You have a deep knowledge of PERL/ HTML / JavaScript / CSS /.
• You have proven experience with the languages mentioned.
• You have experience or familiarity with PostgreSQL.
• You have familiarity with Docker.
• You have experience working with authenticated, customer focused applications.
• Youve built accessible and internationalized web applications before.
• You are fluent in English language
