Peer Support Worker - Social Recovery

Working Hours: 30 hours per week - The service runs between: 8am and 8pm (work pattern to agreed with the successful candidate)

Salary: £24,640 per annum. (salary pro rata for part time hours)

Location: (Place Based) North Norfolk - Aylsham, Cromer, Holt and surrounding areas

  • Due to the nature of the role a driver licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role, mileage is paid at 45p per mile for cars after your home to work base mileage is deducted.

The RoleWe are recruiting a Peer Support Worker to join our Social Recovery Team. This role is ideal for someone who has personal experience with mental health challenges and has used those experiences to foster resilience and recovery. As a Peer Support Worker, you will use your lived experience to connect with clients, offering them hope, understanding, and practical support.

As a Peer Support Worker you will maintain a caseload of clients for peer support work who have accessed Mind Talking Therapies Service. The Peer Support Worker will use their personal experience of recovery and resilience to help clients better understand their own experience of recovery, with the aim of helping them to identify personal goals, enjoy social inclusion and increase their self-confidence, independence and autonomy.

Core Responsibilities

Share your personal recovery journey in a professional and appropriate manner.

Empower individuals to take control of their own recovery through diverse interventions and opportunities.

To deliver Peer Support Work and share lived experience whilst maintaining a good level of mental health recovery.

To undertake own efficient and effective diary management.

To manage a caseload of clients.

To provide effective Peer Support to those accessing The Social Recovery Service in Norfolk and Waveney.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have

  • Experience of working with a diverse group of people.
  • A passion for supporting others who may present in a variety of ways.
  • Experience of working within a recovery focused organisation.
  • Experience of creating positive working relationships with people in a professional setting.
  • Experience of liaising with a variety of support services including police and ambulance teams.
  • Essential - Lived experience with your own mental health recovery journey.
