Payroll Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support end-to-end payroll and timekeeping processes for a large and growing organization. This role involves working independently on complex matters requiring strong judgment, data accuracy, and knowledge of payroll systems and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate payroll for both salaried and hourly employees on a timely basis
• Ensure payroll processes comply with all federal and state tax regulations
• Manage and coordinate activities with third-party payroll and timekeeping vendors
• Implement payroll process updates and system changes accurately and promptly
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners to support business goals
• Stay current on payroll industry practices and identify potential impacts to internal systems
• Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives within payroll operations
• Analyze payroll and financial data to support management decision-making
• Perform compliance reviews and maintain adherence to internal control standards
• Participate in and/or lead special projects, including those with international scope

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and timekeeping processes
• Proficient understanding of U.S. payroll taxation and remittance procedures
• Skilled in handling multiple tasks and working under tight deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience leading small teams or projects independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative team-oriented mindset
• Familiarity with corporate HR policies and labor agreements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field required
• Prior experience in payroll and timekeeping operations is required
• Background in accounting strongly preferred; SAP experience a plus
• Understanding of banking procedures, tax obligations, and garnishment laws
