Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and family members, obtaining and verifying demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information.
  • Complete the end-to-end process of patient registration, including the collection of patient signatures and registration documents.
  • Conduct insurance eligibility and benefit verification, referral/authorization, and provide financial education on designated accounts.
  • Calculate and collect patient liabilities such as co-payments, deductibles, and deposits at the time of service.
  • Refer cases to financial counseling for follow-up and consultation as needed.
  • Enhance the patient experience through all interactions, demonstrating knowledge of our health system and service offerings.
  • Support the implementation of programs, policies, and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Maintain positive work relationships with team members and ensure compliance with cross-team responsibilities.
  • Authenticate patient identity throughout all processes and maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
  • At least 1 year of recent relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of patient access, financial counseling, and insurance/medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in multiple computer systems, including patient registration/accounting systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a diverse environment while maintaining confidentiality.
