Breaker28 is a business that coaches and trains executive leaders and their teams in order to transform social justice organizations and improve their outcomes from the inside out. We are currently in a season of increased business and growth, and looking to bring on a part-time Ops & Logistics Manager to support our CEO in client-facing materials and deliverables, strengthening our automations and systems, and in general improving both the quality and speed of our ability to serve clients. Our ideal candidate brings the following strengths and skills to the table:

• A tech-forward process-oriented thinker skilled in building tech-enabled systems that allow for predictable success in a business context. (For example, finding swifter ways to do things using automations or integrations available for the tools we use.)

• A Canva whiz with an eye for design and the ability to create Canva slides, basic social media graphics, and similar client-facing reports or tools in Canva.

• Someone with people-smarts who is both interested in, and skilled in, reading rooms, understanding what clients or colleagues need, and adjusting your communication style and content to have the best impact possible with others - especially across lines of difference.

• A resilient, accountable and reliable professional who is able to consistently deliver high-quality work, keep consistent hours, and adhere to committed timelines 85%+ of the time. This individual should also be very comfortable receiving (and giving) constructive feedback, and transparently taking ownership of (and fixing) mistakes when they happen without defensiveness or deflection.

• A hyper-detailed, thorough, responsible and organized teammate who can ensure we don’t drop balls in times of peak client activity or when our CEO is on travel. Someone who will hold our internal deadlines as their own and manage up to move the work wherever possible.

• A proven proactive learner who has demonstrated the ability to learn on the job and take responsibility for partnering with their manager to build their context of the work or industry.

Additionally, experience in the nonprofit sector is not mandatory, but is highly preferred.

This role will exist at 40 hours per month beginning June 1st (or sooner if desired), with the opportunity to increase hours in mid-late September pending mutual bandwidth and interest, with flexibility for many of those hours to happen after work hours if needed, so long as project deliverables are met. This role is ideal for someone looking to apprentice in the consulting space or who wants to build their context on working with nonprofits; as such, we will provide ample opportunities for learning, growth and feedback. 

Compensation for this role is $40 per hour for 40-50 hours per month depending on our needs. If local to the DC, MD, and VA area, a gas/transportation stipend will also be available for coming into the office once per week. Should this role extend beyond September, we will be revisiting compensation to honor the institutional knowledge this individual would bring to a future role.
