The Opportunity

Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer I with 2-3 years of packaging experience (excluding internships) to join our team! This candidate would have strong data entry and system navigation skills and experience with working cross-functionally with various stakeholders. Experience working in Food & Beverage and supplier engagement and mockup development is preferred.

The Packaging Engineer I would support business continuity projects, assist with creation and updates of packaging specifications in internal systems, and engage in supplier coordination for new bag designs and mockups. They would also support brand stewardship task forces including marketing, sales, supply chain, and MOS. Occasional travel possible for line trials.

The preference is for this candidate to be local to Plano, TX. If remote, travel to Plano, TX is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support product initiatives, packaging design and performance enhancements, cost-improvement efforts, and promotional activities.
• Assist with packaging qualifications by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
• Assist with packaging specification development
• Plan and execute a design of experiments. Perform statistical analysis on data generated from experiments and write final reports.
• Support packaging line trials including planning, conducting and post-trial activities.
• Partner with purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging
• Build internal and external relationships to effectively influence and gain support for initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering.
• 2-3 years packaging engineering experience (excluding internships).
• Understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
• Knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labeling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
• Basic understanding of project timeline development.
• Able to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing).
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.

Compensation Range: Up to $85,000
