The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth within the Decorative Surfaces product category by targeting high-potential customers and promoting a focused range of surface solutions. These products include countertops, sinks, HPL, TFL (design matching program), Thinscape, Wetwall, and other decorative surface items identified for strategic growth.
This role is field-focused, calling on countertop fabricators, kitchen & bath cabinetry companies, and mid-to-large scale home builders and remodelers. The Outside Sales Representative is accountable for meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), building strong relationships, and positioning themselves as a subject matter expert within the category.
Position will cover the state of AL and eastern TN. You will drive your own vehicle with reimbursements and should be on road 4 days out of the week minimum.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Performance & KPI Achievement
- Drive revenue and margin growth by meeting or exceeding defined sales goals
- Expand the customer base by acquiring new buying customers within the target segments
Customer Engagement
- Regularly visit fabrication shops, dealers, and builders to promote and support product use
- Educate customers on features, benefits, and applications of decorative surface products
- Deliver compelling presentations, both formal and informal, to showcase product offerings
- Develop strong, ongoing relationships with key decision-makers and specifiers
Product & Market Expertise
- Serve as the go-to expert on all decorative surfacing products including HPL, quartz, solid surface, sinks, and related items
- Communicate product launches, program changes, and pricing updates to customers and internal teams
- Collaborate with internal sales teams, regional sales managers, and supplier partners to align on strategy and drive results
Territory & Account Management
- Work closely with sales leadership to identify target accounts and create strategies for engagement
- Maintain CRM records including call activity, customer follow-ups, and sample placements
- Monitor and restock on-site sample inventory
Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate with other departments to support customer programs and resolve issues efficiently
- Participate in internal sales meetings, training, and other team-driven initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM software
- Physical capability to lift materials up to 30 pounds as needed
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of outside sales or product-focused sales experience
- Experience working with fabricators, builders, or design professionals is a plus
- Willingness to travel locally and overnight
