Qualifications:
Candidate must possess and maintain one of the following certifications issued by American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P)
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Certified Professional Coder – Hospital (CPC-H)
Certified Professional Coder – Payer (CPC-P)
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
Possess a minimum of 1 year of outpatient coding experience within the preceding 3 years.
