Summary

Job Summary: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with WebLogic administration experience to join our team. The DBA’s primary duty will be maintaining production, test, and development databases, which will include: monitoring backups, space management, deployments, patching, and helping developers as needed. The DBA will also contribute to the system analysis, design, database development, and implementation based on project needs. The DBA will also play a large role in designing and migrating a production infrastructure into a fault-tolerant AWS environment. Duties will include modifying current management techniques to take advantage of the AWS toolset, implementing the fault-tolerant strategy, and planning the data migration tasks. Job Responsibilities: Maintains operational production, test, and development databases and application servers. Researches and implements new technologies or approaches that improve database and application server operations. Maintain Database security by performing Security Technical Implementations Guides (STIGs). Deploy and maintain web, Java, and enterprise applications. Participate in researching and implementing cloud-based high availability and failover architectures related to database and application server operations. Help plan and perform migration of onsite database and application servers to an AWS environment. Work with developers to troubleshoot issues and to deploy releases to production, test, and development environments. Coordinate and perform quarterly patching of databases and application servers. Remain abreast of, and analyzes, new and emerging technologies and tools for applicability to the field. Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Required: Experience in all aspects of Oracle implementation and management. Experience with both Oracle 11g and 12c. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience supporting Oracle databases in a Unix-based production environment. Experienced with WebLogic administration, configuration, and deployments in a Unix-based environment. Active DOE Q or equivalent security clearance. Or, if clearance is from another agency, must be eligible for reciprocity for conversion to DOE Q. Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Basic knowledge of AWS infrastructure components and operations. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
