Summary

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Oracle Cloud Engineer to join our team in Herndon, Virginia.

The Oracle Cloud Engineer will be tasked to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) supporting a high priority mission at one of our National Intelligence Customers.  In this role, you will work closely with architects, DevOps, and database teams to optimize Oracle cloud environments, ensure security and scalability, and support mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design & Deploy: Architect and deploy scalable and secure solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Automation & Optimization: Implement IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform, Ansible, or OCI Resource Manager to automate cloud provisioning.

  • Database & Storage Management: Manage Oracle Cloud databases (Autonomous DB, Exadata, Oracle RAC) and storage solutions (Object Storage, Block Volumes).

  • Networking & Security: Configure VCNs, subnets, load balancers, and security lists for cloud applications.

  • Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Use OCI Monitoring, Logging, and Performance Hub to optimize cloud resources and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.

  • Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Design backup, replication, and failover strategies for critical workloads.

  • Cloud Cost Optimization: Monitor resource utilization and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize OCI spending.

  • Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with industry security standards (NIST 800-53) and implement best practices for IAM policies and access controls.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Proficiency in deploying and managing Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Cloud VM instances. 

  • Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, or OCI Resource Manager for infrastructure automation.

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (VCNs, Load Balancers, VPN, FastConnect).

  • Experience with Oracle Identity and Access Management (IAM) and security policies.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux environments, scripting (Bash, Python), and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools such as Oracle Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, or Grafana.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience working with and developing on OCI, particularly 2 years of consulting experience preferred.

  • Oracle Cloud Certifications (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate/Professional). 

  • Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) and hybrid cloud solutions.

  • Background in DevOps, Kubernetes, or containerized deployments on OCI or another cloud provider.

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Administration (DBA) and SQL performance tuning.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
