Optical System Design Engineer

On-site, Bavaria

I am looking for an experienced Optical System Design Engineer to design customized optical sensors for 2D & 3D AOI applications in semiconductor shopfloor.

Working with a global leading tech company who's innovative approach and large investements within R&D have them leading the market across multiple industries.

This team are specificlly focused on advanced manufacturing processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design customized optical sensors for 2D & 3D AOI applications.
• Reach process targets related to scanning speed & precision measurement.
• Specify subsystems & drive test & evaluation tasks.
• Build prototypes in lab & validate performance.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Physics, Optical Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of relevant working experience in development of advanced sensors and/or optical systems
• Deep knowledge of Optical Sensor Technologies (Triangulation / Whitelight Chromatography / Morie / Interferometry), OEM, option provider & consultants, R&D landscape / institutes
• Advanced skills in optical simulation (i.e. Zeemax), CAD Design SW (i.e. Solid Works), multi-physics simulation (i.e. COMSOL)
