Blending operator blends stains, paints and colorants according to blending formulas within specified due date according to company ERP system, tints material as per customer’s orders, does color/shade matching, keeps retain samples and batch wise data’s in lab for future references. The whole blending process must be done in accordance to company safety rules, minimalization of waste and losses and company housekeeping rules. The position represents also a support for sales-technicians in blending testing samples.

Responsibilities

  • Blend custom orders within specified due date according precise mixing formula
  • Match colors within facility color guidelines
  • Custom blend all orders within specific order guidelines (i.e. color, gloss, viscosity).
  • Manage batch size
  • Follow all safety practices as outlined, avoiding EHS hazards by proper PPE
  • Follow Waste Minimization Plan
  • Follow Hazardous Material Handling Procedures
  • Prepare custom stain orders and custom wood finish orders to include blending initial batch, taking active part in shade adjustments, filling and labeling batches.
  • Prepare wood step panels and spray-outs if needed/after proper training
  • Establish and maintain accurate customer work order files, formulas and retains.
  • Ensure customers’ quality and service expectations are met.
  • Clean and repair store equipment.
  • Identify equipment/facility problems and make recommendations.
  • Operate all material handling, tinting, mixing and testing equipment in a safe manner.
  • Properly store all partial containers to correct inventory location.
  • Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.
  • Identify potential obsolete/damaged material and handle per established policy/procedures.
  • Maintain daily clean up of mixing room and equipment.
  • Maintain facility to S-W standards through proper maintenance, repair and housekeeping.
  • Follow designated loss prevention, security and safety practices according to policy and correct or report non-compliance of appropriate procedures/policies.
  • Take immediate action to contain spillage using hazardous materials containment procedures, including proper and timely reporting.
  • Assist with general warehouse, delivery and customer service duties as needed, including loading and uploading of material and waiting on customers.
  • Know stock limits and be familiar with stock order procedures.
  • Assist with yearly stock-take.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
