Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations. This includes managing a team of team leads and hourly associates, optimizing production schedules, supporting Lean initiatives, and ensuring safety, quality, and delivery goals are consistently met. This role will be located onsite at X-Rite’s corporate headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Supervising 20–22 hourly associates and team leads in a high-mix, low-volume assembly environment
• Leading daily SQDIP stand-up meetings and driving team performance to meet SQDIP metrics
• Managing personnel assignments to meet production schedules and customer delivery expectations
• Supporting continuous improvement efforts through Kaizen, 5S, and other Lean tools
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, conducting regular audits, and leading follow-up actions
• Tracking and managing labor costs, productivity, and process KPIs through established systems

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business
• At least 3 years of progressive operations experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Kaizen, 5S)
• Proficiency with daily management systems, production tracking, and performance evaluation processes
• Willingness to work onsite full-time at the Kentwood, MI facility

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $81,300 - $90,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
