Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Operations Manager is to grow and lead a successful startup industrial distribution business. Working alongside the Warehouse and Customer Service Teams, the ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is willing to perform any task necessary to ensure the overall success of the business. This person must believe, live, and promote our mission statement and corporate values. You are expected to ensure safety and quality, improve productivity and efficiency and manage everything from inside sales to receiving, to shipping and billing. This position requires strong listening, effective communication and team building skills, timely problem-solving techniques, and the ability to multitask and focus on multiple projects at once while exceeding customer expectations. Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day business operations for the Nuvo division.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of budgets, short-term plans, and long-term plans including staffing and planning to adjust to business cycles.
  • Oversee customer service, production, shipping and receiving, and repairs to help deliver excellent customer service through continual improvements.
  • Serve as liaison between departments to assist with production related issues.
  • Oversee and ensure various policies are established and maintained such as training, safety, waste reduction, labor costs, quality, etc.
  • Initiate and monitor improvement projects or processes.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control standards.
  • Generate quotes, enter orders, contact vendors, update records and track orders as necessary through the ERP system.
  • Follow-up on open parts orders and lead times for open production orders; correspond with customers and vendors regarding open orders.
  • Coordinate with corporate to ensure the proper inventory levels and maintenance required for the location.
  • Ensure cycle counting is maintained at an acceptable accuracy level.
  • Manage and review locations timecard requirements through ADP.
  • Operate as a working manager performing all job duties as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must be willing to get hands dirty – wear different hats, and step into any responsibilities required to make the business successful – this could include crimping fittings, inside sales, order entry, physically loading/unloading inventory, managing people, billing, and more.

  • Capable and willing to drive a forklift – either certified or willing to get certified

  • Experience in Production and/or industrial distribution/warehouse environment
  • Proficient Computer Skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering field, or a minimum five years of management experience
  • Current permanent U.S. work authorization required – no sponsorship.
  • Experience in industrial distribution/warehouse environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hose, rubber and/or fluid power distribution a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Combination of sitting at computer and lifting materials in warehouse to help with production.
  • Capable of standing, sitting, lifting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
