Job Overview
The
Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production and shipping operations, ensuring schedules are maintained, and jobs are completed on time. This role supports process improvements, holds floor leads accountable for daily tasks, and serves as a key point of contact for resolving operational issues. Additionally, this position acts as a bridge between employees and the HR team in Louisville, KY, handling basic HR inquiries and ensuring company policies are followed.
Shift Details
1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
What You'll Do
- Act as the primary point of contact for floor leads, filtering questions and resolving issues. Escalate unfamiliar situations to the General Manager when necessary.
- Maintain and monitor production and shipping schedules to ensure jobs are completed and shipped on time.
- Ensure jobs are received into inventory on time per due dates.
- Hold daily production meetings, track job progress, and communicate potential delays to management.
- Serve as an additional set of eyes on the production and fulfillment floors to ensure efficiency and adherence to processes.
- Assist in developing and implementing new improvement processes, effectively communicating all changes and improvements to floor leads.
- Support and hold floor leads accountable for completing daily tasks and maintaining workflow consistency.
- Act as a liaison between team members and the HR team in Louisville, KY.
- Handle basic HR-related questions from team members and provide guidance on company policies.
- Assist in onboarding new hires by facilitating paperwork, team introductions, and training plans.
- Help enforce company policies and escalate any serious HR-related concerns to our HR Team.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Logistics, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in production and warehouse environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership role required.
- Strong sense of urgency with the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in maintaining production/shipping schedules and inventory management.
- Proactive mindset-anticipates challenges and takes initiative to resolve them before they become issues.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple schedules, priorities, and HR inquiries effectively.
- Adaptable to changing business needs and capable of leading teams through process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of production/warehouse management systems a plus.
- Basic HR knowledge, including company policies, onboarding procedures, and handling employee concerns.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to work effectively with floor leads, employees, and HR representatives.
