Summary

**General Description of Position**

As the Operations Manager, you will supervise and coordinate all activities of production workers engaged in the manufacturing of coatings and oversee daily operations making sure production cycles are met. You will be responsible for making sure that the production work is carried out correctly, on time and in a safe manner. Additionally, you will be expected to recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions..

**Skills & Requirements**

  • Mechanically inclined specifically with air compressor systems, hydraulic lifts, general construction, etc..
  • Technologically savvy specifically with Microsoft office suite and database programs.
  • Solid communication ability in both verbal & written mediums
  • Valid driver's license.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

*Production*

  • Ensure incoming materials match Purchase Order. Note damage and or discrepancies.
  • Ensure QC procedures for raw materials are followed.
  • Track raw material inventory Ensure adequate raw material inventory to meet current and future production requirements.
  • Update QuickBooks -- Finished goods daily, Raw materials inventory weekly
  • Schedule production to maintain minimum finish goods inventory and to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate with upper management to develop appropriate stock levels of finished goods.
  • Adjust for season as necessary.
  • Communicate with upper management weekly regarding forecast orders that may affect production scheduling.
  • Schedule production to minimize wastewater generation.
  • Keep Formulator up to date -- DAILY - Post all transactions (Batches, Incoming raw materials, etc.)
  • Ensure all products are properly labeled with appropriate batch # and product identification label.
  • Manage schedules for Plant Employees to ensure smooth operation of Acrymax's day-to-day business.
  • On occasion, this may involve being a part of the production team to ensure production requirements are met. This can include but is not limited to driving forklifts, loading/ unloading trucks, packaging product and other tasks necessary.

*Purchasing*

  • Negotiate and/or research for the best prices for raw materials.
  • Maximize freight savings.
  • Maintain and order packaging needs including strapping, wrapping, pallets, etc.
  • Order maintenance items as required.

*Physical Plant*

  • Repair, maintain, and improve features of the building as required
  • Coordinate as necessary on projects requiring outside contractors.
  • Maintain organization throughout the plant including the lab, production area, and warehouse
  • Maintain Acrymax Physical Plant through periodic cleaning, painting and schedule maintenance
  • If work for either equipment or physical plant is outside the skills of Acrymax and its employees, coordinate to have work performed by outside contractor(s) managing both schedule and expectation of completed work.

*Equipment*

  • Inspect production and plant equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation.
  • Schedule repairs as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain equipment maintenance procedures including logs and regularly scheduled maintenance.
  • Schedule forklift maintenance and repairs.

*Quality Control/Testing*

  • Review the Certificate of Compliance for incoming raw materials to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Release material for use after acceptance. Collaborate with technician to conduct QC testing on all finished goods as required.
  • Ensure that that no materials shall be released for sale that do not meet Acrymax specifications.
  • Generate Certificate of Analysis for finished products to meet customer requirements.

*Training*

  • Collaborate with upper management to schedule safety and other appropriate training sessions for plant employees.
  • Utilize internet and other appropriate resources to prov de for an effective learning experience.
  • Document training and maintain certifications for employees as required. This training shall Include forklift certification, OSHA/ GHS, and DOT/Hazmat Packaging as well as Acrymax policies and procedures
  • Schedule monthly safety meeting.

*Hiring*

  • Interview potential plant employees and make recommendations to upper management on production and warehouse staff
  • Reporting Track hours of plant staff Track employee absences and monitor overtime.
  • Report on monthly wastewater generation.
  • Weekly report on gallons produced.

*Regulatory*

  • Coordinate with upper management and outside chemical disposal to have any waste stream generated by Acrymax is disposed of properly Update and review in-house SDS documents and product labels to ensure OSHA & GHS compliance

*Special Projects*

  • Collaborate with upper management on special projects
